STAR competence framework

The STAR Technical Competence Framework sets out the technical functions of transport professionals in a hierarchical structure. It is divided into 11 broad domains which are further subdivided into technical areas. Each technical area has a number of competences that describe what underpinning knowledge is required and what needs to be done to perform a given function competently.

The STAR competence framework provides a starting point for accessing training and development solutions to gain new skills and improve performance in a wide range of activities.
